I am criminal defense attorney Josh W. Thacker, and I have both prosecuted and defended all kinds of cases. Before private practice, I spent six years as a prosecutor in this region of Georgia, handling everything from speeding tickets to murder cases. Because I know how the prosecution puts cases together, I know how to fight them on your behalf.

My law practice is devoted to quality defense for criminal and traffic matters, including felony and misdemeanor crimes, juvenile offenses, and major and minor traffic violations. I serve the South Metro Atlanta area and Central Georgia, representing local residents as well as out-of-state drivers.

Local Roots in the Community and Justice System

I am a native of Griffin, attended college at the University of Georgia and earned my law degree from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. I served as Assistant District Attorney in the Griffin Judicial Circuit for five years and in the Coweta Judicial Circuit for one year before opening my own law practice in Griffin in 2007. I am a member of the National College for DUI Defense, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
